Dawn of a new era

Today, history is created....a man whom no one gave a chance about a year ago has become the most popular and powerful person in the world. Perhaps never in the existence of mankind has someone been welcomed by so many across the globe than Barack Obama who just won the American Presidency. A big congratulations to him and a job well done considering the huge obstacles he had to overcome.

He has a tremendous amount of expectations put on him and he may find that the next few years can be as tough as winning the Presidency if he wants to fulfill all the promises he had made to the American people and the global population. Lets hope the light of wisdom and tranquility emanates from the White House and may the world be a better place to live in the very near future.

Science and technology will be a great tool for the new President to fulfill his promises. Prudent investment in the whole ecosystem of science and technology from the educational system up to the industry and business will enable miracle technologies such as the Internet to be invented. Perhaps a new source of cheap, abundant and green energy may be found or a drug which inhibits cancer may be found - there are so much possibilities.

Lets hope the beginning of a new era will later end with most of the promises honored. That will really fulfill the collective global wish for a better future ahead.
